Important Milestones

Important milestones in the company history of CONTENS:

  • 1999: Founding of CONTENS Software GmbH
  • 2000: First customers: Discovery Channel, Lufthansa Globeground, ndF
  • 2001: first customer in Switzerland, move to larger office spaces;
  • 2002: Development of CONTENS 2, for the first time exhibitors at CeBIT, start of the CONTENS partner network
  • 2003: Launch of the entry-level version CONTENS compact; moving to new office next to the English Garden
  • 2004: CONTENS celebrates 5-year company anniversary; New customers: Max Planck, John Deere, Concordia Insurance Group
  • 2005: Idea for the development of a social network technology
  • 2006: Presentation of the completely newly developed version CONTENS 3
  • 2007: Launch of the social software solution CONTENS relate; CONTENS wins RTL as a customer
  • 2008: First community based on CONTENS launched; New customers: McDonald's Germany, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts
  • 2009: CONTENS celebrates 10 years of company anniversary
  • 2010: Moving to larger and more modern office space; Introduction of the Core and Professional Services units; RTL.de relaunch with CONTENS ; new CONTENS logo
  • 2011: Presentation of CONTENS 4 at CeBIT
  • 2012: Presentation of the social workplace based on CONTENS; New customer: Allianz
  • 2013: Launch of the German-speaking community "Deutsch für Dich" at the Goethe-Institut; New customer: Toyota Insurance Management
  • 2014: CONTENS celebrates 15-year company anniversary; Relaunch of the website goethe.de on CONTENS; CONTENS starts training for apprentices (IT specialist for application development)
  • 2015: new customer RTL Group Luxembourg launches on CONTENS; expension of the office spaces in Neumarkter Strasse
  • 2016: Largest project in the company history (development time almost 2 years) very successfully launched; New benefits for employees: kicker, free drinks, as well as fruit and snacks.
  • 2017: Launch of CONTENS 5; new customers like Best Western Hotels Central Europe.
